Accessibility

Last updated: October 24, 2026

We want everyone to be able to use heydebut.com and the Debut app, including people who use a screen reader, a keyboard, captions, zoom or reduced motion.

What this website aims for

This website aims to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA. In practice:

  • Every image has a text alternative, and every app screen and screen recording is described in words.
  • Screen recordings are silent. They never play sound, play only while they're on screen, have a pause button, and don't move at all if your device is set to reduce motion.
  • Text has a contrast ratio of at least 4.5:1 against its background, in light and dark mode.
  • Everything works with a keyboard, with a visible focus outline, and every page starts with a "Skip to content" link.
  • Form fields have labels, errors are described in words, and no consent box is ever checked for you.
  • Every page sets its language, and uses headings and landmarks that screen readers can move through.

How we check

This site's tests run axe-core's WCAG 2.1 A and AA rules on every page, and check the contrast of every text color the site uses, in light and dark mode. Automated tests can't find everything, so we also fix what people tell us.

The Debut app

The Debut app is built to work with your iPhone's accessibility settings, including larger text sizes, VoiceOver and Reduce Motion. If a screen in the app doesn't work well with them, please tell us.

Tell us about a problem

If anything on this site or in the app is hard to use, email hello@heydebut.com with the page or screen and what happened. We'll reply within 5 business days and work to fix it. If you need anything on this site in another format, ask us and we'll provide it.
